Making the impossible, possible.

As President and CEO across 24 years, Idit Klein has boldly led Keshet to build a robust Jewish movement for equality within our communities and across the country. Then, as now, Keshet works for the full equality of all LGBTQ+ Jews and our families in Jewish life. We strengthen Jewish communities through education and training, create spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to be proudly and joyously Jewish, and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights nationwide.

Our communities are experiencing an alarming rise in transphobia, homophobia, and antisemitism. The new Administration seeks to legalize anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination and build on the harmful policies that have already hurt so many of our children, families, and friends in states across the country. In the face of these threats, Keshet programs and advocacy efforts are a proven source of support, collective power, and even joy on the long road to full equality.

We invite you to invest in the next generation of work for equality. Please make a leadership gift to the Idit Klein Fund for the Impossible. Your generous gift enables Keshet to accomplish three key goals:

Honor and build upon Idit’s decades of pioneering leadership in transforming life for LGBTQ+ Jews, our families, and our communities

Meet the urgent and increasing current needs of our community by positioning Keshet to maintain its strength and agility

Build essential infrastructure for Keshet to take bold new risks at moments of opportunity for growth and impact

Please join us in making the extraordinary, ordinary.

Together, since Keshet’s inception, we’ve achieved changes that at the time seemed unimaginable. Acceptance and belonging in thousands of Jewish spaces. Gay marriage. Progress on trans rights. We’ve made the extraordinary, ordinary. Let’s keep imagining. Let us celebrate our extraordinary selves as we build a future of ordinary dignity, belonging, and joy for LGBTQ+ Jews and our families.

“As a family with two dads living in Florida, finding inclusive Jewish spaces is more important than ever. Keshet is working every day to make it easier for families like ours, and we are indebted to Keshet and its staff for their advocacy and programming in our state. We have seen firsthand the impact that Keshet has made for our family, and we are proud to support their continued good work.”

Raising Is, a nonbinary trans-Thai-Jewish kid in Florida, has been joyful and challenging. Keshet has been a place of comfort, inspiration and safety for Is-from Shabbaton participation, emotional and intellectual support of Keshet guides countless LGBTQ+ teens and families towards acceptance and fulfilment. We are so thankful for Keshet.”

“At eleven years old, our child, who had attended URJ Camp Eisner since she was seven, formally transitioned to her affirmed name and gender. This was more than a decade ago, and it was the first time an overnight Jewish summer camp had faced such a request. Keshet worked with camp leadership to prepare a welcoming environment. Later that year, The Forward published ‘How one transgender camper helped shape the entire Reform movement’. That camper was Hannah. Keshet made it possible.”
