What You Need to Know About the Washington Ballot:

Washington LGBTQ+ and ally Jews, we invite you to take action! Vote NO on the anti-trans measure on your Washington ballot this election:

Washington Initiative 638: Proposed Trans Athlete Sports Ban Through Required Invasive Procedures

Keshet invites you to mobilize your Jewish communities to be involved in the effort to defeat ballot initiative 638. LGBTQ+ Jews and allies, we are working towards a world where trans and LGBTQ+ youth and adults are treated with the dignity, safety, and humanity we all deserve. This means defeating harmful policy proposals that make us all unsafe. Learn how to take action below.

How Does a “NO” Vote Reflect Jewish Values?

As Jews, we know the danger of silence when minorities are targeted. Trans and LGBQ+ youth and adults deserve the same access to safety, opportunities, and protections as everyone else—whether in healthcare, housing, education, or on the sports field. For we are all made B’tzelem Elohim—in the divine image.

We reject the idea that politicians should police our youth sports leagues. We trust families and communities to make the best decision for their children. In reality, these cruel measures, cloaked in the guise of fairness and protecting women and girls, actually put women and girls at risk of invasive, traumatic testing and searches. These types of bans and scrutiny are strategically used by our opponents to fragment our movements and community. We say no!

It is our obligation to make our pro-equality position known loudly in the public square: Jews support transgender rights.
