As attacks proliferate against our community, Keshet is expanding to meet the need. We are excited to welcome two new staff members, both based in Texas: Rachel Gollay, Southwest Community Mobilization Manager, and Kachel Kohnhorst, Southwest Education & Training Manager.
Our Southwest team is already hard at work strengthening our outreach and ensuring our impact is felt at the grassroots level, fueling our educational initiatives with Jewish communities to develop their own programming, policy, and culture so that their institutions are places where LGBTQ+ members can thrive, and mobilizing Jewish communities to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
We are excited to educate and activate the Southwest Jewish community to make a tangible difference in LGBTQ+ people’s lives. That’s why we’re collaborating closely with partners like Equality Texas, in addition to other local and national Jewish community organizations to drive positive change and create lasting impact in the Southwest.
And, with the 2023 Texas and Arizona legislative sessions recently concluded, our work does not stop at the local level. We are thrilled with anticipation at the re-introduction of the Equality Act slated for this afternoon, crucial legislation that will provide comprehensive protections for LGBTQ+ individuals across the country. We encourage you to join us in urging our legislators to make equality the law of the land.
With our expanding team, and together with you, we’re energized to continue to make change.Thank you for your unwavering support along this journey.
Stay tuned for more updates on our progress as we continue to grow and make a difference in the Southwest and across the country. And join us in saying “Hi!” to Rachel and Kachel as we welcome them to the team!
