Thrive, the Jewish Coalition to Protect Trans and LGBQ+ Youth, is excited to announce a new event this Pride: Trans Pride Shabbat. Join us this Pride to celebrate our resistance and resilience as we stand on the shoulders of our queer and trans Jewish ancestors who survived so that we could thrive. Together, we will push back against the harmful rhetoric and policy to show those who don’t believe we should exist that we are here, we aren’t going anywhere, and that our communities are beautiful, joyous, generative spaces of love and belonging. This Pride, let’s intentionally carve out space to celebrate our trans community members by adding crafting Trans Pride-focused Shabbat programming and creating safe, joyful communities that advocate for the world we all deserve.

Keshet is offering a comprehensive Shabbat program for individuals. For organizations, we offer a supplement for the Pride Shabbat they are already hosting. Organizations can use the individual resource if their institution is not already hosting a Pride Shabbat.

For individuals: Trans Pride Shabbat is in partnership with OneTable, an organization that provides financial support for those interested in creating a Shabbat practice. If you are 21-39ish and not an undergraduate, you qualify to post your Shabbat on this portal. If you are outside this range and would like to publish a Shabbat, please don’t hesitate to contact Lanie Cohen at [email protected], who will find a workaround.

We invite you to join us on June 27 or any Shabbat in June that works for your community to host a Trans Pride Shabbat.

After downloading the guide, please fill out this brief form to tell us a little more about your Trans Pride Shabbat. And scroll on to download a graphic to share on social media.
