Shana Cohen

Director of Major Gifts
she/her/hers

Shana — pronounced like Madonna — is Keshet’s Director of Major Gifts, mobilizing resources so that LGBTQ+ Jews and our communities don’t just talk about equity and belonging, but actually experience it. She believes deeply in transforming wealth as an act of resistance.

She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, which means she can both analyze a system and lovingly kvetch about it.

Shana lives in Minneapolis, where she has learned to survive winter, appreciate a good hot dish, and say “ope” with impressive fluency. When she’s not working toward justice, she’s usually gathering people around a table, DJing a queer party, or telling a slightly long-winded, outrageously good story — ideally all three at once.
