Bay Area Education & Training Manager
they/them/theirs

Rabbi Eliana Kayelle brings a deep love of education and community as the Bay Area Education and Training Manager. They hope to inspire people to think about how Jewish texts and traditions relate to them here and now — and how they can be used while working for an equitable future.

Eliana is originally from Long Island, NY where they’ve worked as a theater-maker, Jewish educator, and community organizer. Prior to joining Keshet they worked for Temple Beth El of Huntington, Camp Ga’avah (a year-round program for LGBTQ+ youth), and were a Bend the Arc Jeremiah Fellow. Eliana has also been a Lead Educator for Camp Tawonga’s B’nai Mitzvah program since 2022.

Eliana received rabbinical ordination in 2021 as part of the first cohort of Pluralistic Rabbinical Seminary. Their work has been published in The Jewish News of Northern California, The Forward, Lilith and HeyAlma. Eliana is a 2026 recipient of the Covenant Foundation’s Pomegranate Prize, awarded to emerging leaders in Jewish Education.

Eliana is guided by radical listening, ancestral wisdom, grappling with tradition, and our collective power in order to work towards a future where there is liberation for all people.
