Boston, MA – April 4, 2025 – Keshet CEO and President Idit Klein said: We are deeply disturbed by the President’s words yesterday regarding Child Abuse Prevention Month. Under the guise of preventing child abuse, the President is continuing to spread malicious misinformation about the realities and dignity of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth, and targets the very supports that are most urgently needed. Let us be clear: it is actions like this by the President and his Administration — whether it be through executive order or declarations like this one — that cause harm and jeopardize lives rather than prevent abuse.
Keshet remains unwaveringly committed to the safety and well-being of trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth and their parents and families. We urge our Jewish community leaders and institutions to continue to send a clear message to trans, nonbinary, and intersex youth and their families: Within the sanctuary of our Jewish community, you can thrive and live in safety and dignity. And we will never stop fighting for you.
