By Keshet
Keshet is made up of a team of dedicated, smart, and fun individuals. Every month, we’re sitting down with one person so that you get to know them a little better! This month, we spoke with Keshet’s Associate Director of Education and Training, Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman. Here’s what they had to say:
Keshet: What excites you the most about working at Keshet?
Rabbi Kleinman: It’s such an honor and so exciting to work with other queer folks! There is so much creativity, care, and queer joy in the work, which is so needed at a time like this.
Keshet: What brings you joy?
Rabbi Kleinman: I love cooling off in a secluded swimming hole, a fresh cup of coffee in the morning, snuggles from my dog, and love from community.
Keshet: What do you value most in a job/work environment?
Rabbi Kleinman: I value the way coworkers treat one another and the culture that it creates. That goes such a long way!
Keshet: What is a book, movie, TV show, or podcast you’ve experienced recently that you’d recommend?
Rabbi Kleinman: BARBIE! I just watched it last night and can’t stop thinking about it. Hot take, I think the whole movie is about confronting death and dying.
Keshet: If you could tell your childhood self anything, what would it be?
Rabbi Kleinman: You are enough and worthy of love just by being you!
Keshet: Name one song on your playlist that you can’t live without.
Rabbi Kleinman: Party for one by Carly Rae Jepsen
Keshet: What are you currently working on that you’re most excited about?
Rabbi Kleinman: So many exciting things! I’m currently working on building out supports and structures for all our contract trainers so that they feel connected to and supported by Keshet when representing us in the world. Oh! And I just ordered really fun swag for them.
