What makes our organization an excellent place for the LGBTQ+ community is that inclusion here is not an add-on—it is woven into who we are and how we show up for one another. We strive to create a community where LGBTQ+ individuals and families are not merely welcomed, but fully seen, valued, and celebrated. That means affirming people in all aspects of congregational life: ritual, leadership, education, pastoral care, and community events. Our language, practices, and policies are intentionally inclusive, and we continue to learn and grow so that our spaces reflect the dignity of every person.
Rooted in Jewish values—b’tzelem Elohim (that every human being is created in the image of God), kavod habriot (honoring human dignity), and areivut (mutual responsibility)—we take seriously the work of listening, educating ourselves, and building trust. We recognize that creating a truly affirming community is an ongoing commitment, and we approach that work with humility, openness, and care. Most importantly, LGBTQ+ members are not asked to fit in here—they help shape who we are. Their voices, leadership, and lived experiences strengthen our community and make it more whole.
