Camp Tavor is a Jewish summer camp located in Three Rivers, Michigan. We offer a joyful, inclusive, and immersive experience for campers entering 2nd–12th grades. Guided by Jewish values, youth leadership, and a strong sense of community, we provide opportunities for campers to grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually while building lifelong friendships. Camp life is grounded in respect, responsibility, and collective care—whether we’re learning on the farm, paddling on the lake, creating art, or just laughing together around a campfire. We strive to make camp accessible to all families and work to ensure every camper feels seen, valued, and safe. Our Gender Inclusion Policies Camp Tavor is committed to creating a safe and affirming environment for campers and staff of all genders and gender identities. We recognize that gender is personal, diverse, and may be experienced and expressed in many ways. Our policies are designed to honor each individual while maintaining the comfort and safety of the entire community. Here’s how we put this into practice: Respect for Identity Campers and staff are invited to share their name and pronouns during registration and throughout the sessions at camp. We use each person’s self-identified name and pronouns in all settings. Cabin Assignments Campers are housed according to their self-identified gender. We also offer the opportunity to have gender-inclusive cabin options for campers who identify outside the binary or who feel more comfortable in that setting. Privacy & Comfort We do have all-gender bathroom spaces with private stalls or curtains. We encourage open communication between campers, families, and staff to address any specific needs or accommodations in advance. Program Participation All camp activities are open to all campers, regardless of gender. We challenge stereotypes and strive for representation in leadership roles, sports, and creative programming. Education & Training Staff receive training in gender inclusion, respectful language, and how to support campers in navigating social situations. Ongoing Commitment We know that inclusion is an ongoing process. We regularly review our policies, adapt to best practices, and welcome feedback from families and campers.
At Camp Tavor, we welcome campers entering 2nd grade and above, with options to fit every family’s needs. Introductory programs run 5–8 days, and longer sessions are available for 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or a full 5-week summer. Each experience is long enough to build deep friendships, stay engaged in camp life, and still leave time to explore other summer passions. Our community is proudly LGBTQ+ affirming, rooted in Jewish values, and committed to creating a joyful, inclusive space for every camper to grow and thrive.
