About

We are a very welcoming, egalitarian community. The Keshet trainings we have had for our leadership, Board, Auxiliary committee and the congregation at large have helped us to be better informed and aware of LGBTQ+ do’s and don’ts. We do our best to practice what we have learned.

We have amazing, inspiring music provided by The Shul Band. Our community is led by a warm, down-to-earth Hazzan who is also a talented musician and composer. We don’t have a formal dues structure. Instead, we ask people to ‘give until it feels good’. This allows us to have an inclusive community, rather than an exclusive one. We are deeply committed to social justice. Our High Holidays and monthly in-person Shabbat services take place in the magnificent, historic Angel Orensanz Foundation on the Lower East Side. Our Zoom Shabbat services are moving and renewing.
