About

My name is Rabbi Bailey Romano, and one of the things I enjoy most about being a rabbi is working with all types of families and Jews to find meaning in their lives. It has been a great privilege to serve LGBTQ+ Jewish families, pre-teens and teens throughout my rabbinate helping them to find belonging and to thrive in the Jewish communities I serve. I created the first regional Tzelem groups for pre-teens and teens spanning DC, Maryland, and Virginia in 2022. I've guided a number of non-binary and trans identifying individuals through the conversion process, and crafted wedding ceremonies using non-binary Hebrew. Along with lay partners at my synagogue, we are actively cultivating spaces for LGBTQ+ Jewish families to gather and create community.
