About

Illini Hillel is very committed to supporting LGBTQ+ students and fostering LGBTQ+ community. Our LGBTJew student group is our most active group - they have programs every month, celebrate holidays through a queer lens, and their annual Purim Drag Show is the biggest Illini Hillel event of the year. Queer Jewish students are also active in every part of our Hillel - not only this student group. They are leading services, serving as interns at the front desk, taking classes, and on the Hillel student board. They are at once fully integrated into this community and they enjoy their own affinity space at the same time. LGBTQ+ Jewish learning is also central to our educational vision and is seamlessly woven into the fabric of our community with the rest of our learning opportunities.
