About

Temple Beth Elohim is a warm, welcoming community that values deep and authentic relationships. In 2024-2025 we are participating in Keshet's Shivyon Cohort. We conscientiously are improving our welcome, outreach and inclusion. We have regular programming on LGBTQ themes, offering speakers, authors, film screenings, gatherings, or observing LGBTQ days/months of significance (such as National Coming Out Day, Transgender Day of Visibility, Pride, etc.). We have an active LGBTQ+ Group, "The 13th Tribe." Staff and leadership are taking part in trainings to familiarize themselves with LGBTQ identities and develop the tools needed to build LGBTQ-affirming community. Either a key staff person or a standing lay/professional group is specifically tasked with moving LGBTQ equality forward, and this is accounted for in their workload. Where possible, access to spaces, groups, programs, and facilities is not based on gender. Where gender-specific spaces, or programs are deemed necessary, comparable non-gender-specific options are available.
