About

Camp Galil actively fosters a culture where all identities are affirmed and celebrated. This isn’t incidental — it’s embedded in the camp’s values and daily practices. From pronoun sharing to inclusive language, LGBTQ+ campers and staff are made to feel seen, respected, and safe. Galil is rooted in progressive Zionist and Jewish values, including tikkun olam (repairing the world), b’tzelem Elohim (the idea that all people are created in the image of God), and radical equality. These principles naturally support LGBTQ+ justice and inclusion as central to Galil's mission.

Galil’s tight-knit, values-driven community provides a unique sense of belonging. LGBTQ+ campers consistently report feeling safe to be themselves — often more than they do in their schools or hometowns. Camp Galil is not just accepting — it’s actively supportive and empowering for LGBTQ+ youth and staff. It's a place where kids can grow, lead, and connect without having to hide any part of who they are.
