I'm ordained as a rabbi within Humanistic Judaism, and -- as is true with my predecessors in my congregation -- am myself a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I prioritize making myself available to and working with and for LGBTQ+ individuals and families. Because my congregation doesn't meet for services on a particularly frequent basis, I don't have regular opportunity to teach/preach on LGBTQ+-related topics -- but I also came out to the congregation during Yom Kippur services and write occasionally in our congregation newsletter. I've participated in a number of life-cycle events for LGBTQ+ community members, and routinely use guidance from the Non-Binary Hebrew Project in rituals and liturgy.
