About

Machar's commitment to Humanistic Judaism means that the inherent dignity and worth of all people is central to our beliefs and conduct in the world, and we expressly understand this to include individuals' sexualities and gender identities. In the last 25 years (really, since we first hired a rabbi), all of our rabbis have been queer or genderqueer, and we have a small but growing group of LGBTQ+ members.
