About

Congregation Etz Chaim was founded in 1974 by LGBTQ+ Jews, FOR LGBTQ+ Jews, their partners, supporters families and friends, to ensure that we had a safe and nurturing place for worship and community. Now located in Wilton Manors, Etz Chaim has been the spiritual home for generations of people in the decades since our founding. We continue to be a community that proudly welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual singles, couples, and families. Our Board of Directors is comprised of all LGBTQ+ individuals, and our Spiritual Leader Marcia Weinstein, who will be ordained a Rabbi in December, has been a proud, lifelong ally to the LGBTQ+ community. We are the ONLY LGBTQ founded synagogue in the state of Florida, one of only SIX in the United States.

We proudly serve the LGBTQIA Jewish community, partners, supporters, friends and allies. We welcome gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual singles, couples, and families to find their Spiritual Center of Gravity, to engage in meaningful worship and conversation, to make friends and find community.
