About

Jewish Federation of the Bluegrass (JFB) is working to create LGBTQ+ programming across the board. People who identify on the LGBTQ+ spectrum are encouraged to fully participate in JFB activities, programs, events, and leadership roles. AhavatLEX, our Adult LGBTQ+ group, works for the full engagement and inclusion of LGBTQ+ adults in all areas of Jewish life in central Kentucky. We are not a synagogue, but we encourage members of the LGBTQ+ community to find the religious home locally that best suits their needs and interests. Further, we work with all individuals who need assistance finding housing, mental health support, and other services through our Jewish Family and Community Services office.

AhavatLEX is our home away from home for Jewish LGBTQ+ adults in the central Kentucky area. We coordinate outings, special learning opportunities, social events, and holiday programs specifically for Jewish LGBTQ+ adults, their spouses/partners, friends, and families, and anyone who seeks to build bridges and engage fully in Jewish life. It is meant to be a safe, warm, and welcoming space where LGBTQ+ adults can get to know one another, discuss the things that matter most to them, and be fully, authentically, and unequivocally themselves without risk of judgment or disapproval.
