Woodlands Community Temple in White Plains will livestream its fourth annual Pride Shabbat service at 8pm on Friday, June 5 {facebook.com/wctemple). This warm, welcoming service of equality, inclusion and love will feature Taren Rome, teacher of Torah who brings together the experiences of being a queer non-binary trans Jew, lifelong seeker, and cultivator of consciousness, to unite disparate concepts and identities in powerful and innovative ways. As Taren says: “True PRIDE is being the totality of you that gives others an invitation to see their own light and cultivate it.” Taren was graduated with a BA in Jewish Education from Hebrew College in Boston, is an alumnus of URJ Kutz Camp, and has spent several years learning with SVARA: A Traditionally Radical Queer Yeshiva.
