Dr. Bettina Aptheker, Distinguished Professor Emerita, Feminist Studies, University of California-Santa Cruz, will share her personal experiences of activism through the decades and the work she engages in today.

Dr. Aptheker is a Lesbian, Jewish-Buddhist, Feminist, Scholar who began her activism as a leader of the Free Speech Movement at U.C. Berkeley in 1964, and has participated in Stonewall, Women’s Liberation, Anti-Vietnam Movement, Civil Rights Movement, etc. Her newest publication is “Communists in Closets: Queering the History 1930s-1990s”
