About Keshet:

Keshet works for the full equality of all LGBTQ Jews and our families in Jewish life. We turn values at the heart of Judaism—equality, inclusion, and human dignity—into action in Jewish communities because when we stand by and allow LGBTQ Jews to be excluded, we hold all of Jewish life back from reaching its full potential. We equip Jewish organizations with the tools to build LGBTQ-affirming communities, create spaces for queer Jewish teens to feel valued as queer and Jewish, and mobilize the Jewish community to fight for LGBTQ justice nationwide.

As an organization that teaches the importance of proactive LGBTQ inclusive messages and actions, Keshet recognizes the similar need to make our commitment to racial equity and justice clear and explicit. We commit to embed a racial equity and justice lens into Keshet’s leadership and staff structure, political analysis, organizational policies, communications, and program content.

About the position:

Keshet is seeking a careful and enthusiastic Program Data Intern to work on a special project for our website, the Equality Directory. The Keshet Equality Directory is a simple way for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Jews and their loved ones to find inclusive Jewish clergy and institutions and learn about their policies and practices.

In 2019 we launched a new website, and many of the Equality Directory listings are holdovers from our prior website which are out of date. We are looking for an intern who is interested in learning about the operations of a nonprofit organization and / or who is interested in gaining experience with a Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database like Salesforce.

The Program Data intern will review old listings from the Equality Directory and determine whether they are still current. The intern will enter Equality Directory listing data into Keshet’s Salesforce CRM, use the web to research information about listings, and reach out to individuals and organizations about their listings. Depending on level of interest, the intern will have the opportunity to learn more about how Salesforce is used by nonprofit organizations. The intern will also check listings on the Keshet website (a WordPress site) to ensure that they are being published correctly, so will have the opportunity to learn about the using the WordPress website content management system (CMS).

Salesforce and/or WordPress experience is not required for this internship, the intern will receive training and ongoing support from Keshet’s Director of Data & CRM.
