The author draws an analogy between the celebration Pesach Sheni (second Passover) and the allowance of gay marriage. Pesach Sheni allowed for Passover observance a month later than the commanded date because of ritual impurity or travel. The author argues that this Torah portion tells us God instituted a new holiday to enable all people to be involved even if they were different.
