Zane brings a passion for Jewish life and LGBTQ+ equality and a penchant for logistics to the role of Keshet’s Executive Assistant. Zane’s love for Judaism, LGBTQ community, and the confluence of the two can be traced back to Zane’s experience participating in Keshet’s Shabbatonim for LGBTQ and ally Jewish teens in high school.

Zane received a degree in Jewish Studies from Vassar College while working at Vassar’s LGBTQ+ Center and serving on the Board of the Vassar Jewish Union. While at Vassar, Zane participated in advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights on campus by leading trainings, teaching sex education, and helping draft school policies that allowed students to receive trans-affirming care on campus and change their names in the system without a legal name change. Zane also participated in and facilitated interfaith work with Vassar’s Office of Religion and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices.

Zane currently lives in Boston with their roommates and two cats, Figaro and Rascal Flats. Zane spends free time cooking, singing, talking about public transit, jamming with whichever instruments are on-hand, getting excited about local produce, preparing for rabbinical school, and trying to figure out how to throw COVID-safe theme parties.
