Remarks given at Temple Emanuel in Newton, Massachusetts in which Daniel Bahner, Keshet’s National Director of Education and training draws connections between his own upbringing as a closeted effeminate gay man, with the concepts of empathy and inclusion, which are both central to Jewish tradition, and the work of allies. Daniel uses Jewish values and traditions to remind us that we too were strangers in a strange land, so we must look out for all members of our community, even when they are strangers to us.
