Meet Joy Ladin. She is Jewish and Trans. She is a widely published essayist and poet, as well as a nationally known speaker on transgender issues and Jewish spirituality. Her memoir Through the Door of Life: A Jewish Journey Between Genders was nominated for a National Jewish Book Award in 2008. In it, she shares with us details of her first marriage, struggles with suicide, and victory over Yeshiva officials.
