The author explains that this Torah portion is the story of rebellion, of speaking out and against those in power. Korach rises up against Moses. Korach’s complaint can be understood as a cry of inequality, similar to those of LGBT people. Pride is a time to rise up like Korach. Pride also calls upon us to recommit ourselves to the causes that we care about the most.
