In this portion, God commands Moses to send twelve scouts to the land of Canaan on a reconnaissance mission. The scouts report back that the people who inhabit the land are large and numerous. The author argues that this portion plays on universal tendencies to underestimate ourselves and let our worries overtake our reason, which LGBT people can certainly relate to.
