Keshet and Glitter Kehilla invite you to celebrate Shabbat in a space by and for trans and gender nonconforming folks. We’ll share in ritual opened up to the possibilities of gender experience and enjoy dinner together afterwards.
The service will be brief but deep, and accessible to all levels of Jewish knowledge and experience.
Dinner will be provided by Keshet. If you’d like to bring a dish to share, please make sure it’s vegan as the host keeps a Kosher vegan home.
Trans Shabbat will be at a community member’s home, so the location will be sent out closer to the date to those who RSVP.
The host also invites anyone who may be interested in lighting the candles at sundown to come early, share in that experience, and then hang out until the official event begins.
In order to hold to the intention of creating a space , non-trans folks are asked to support this effort by attending only at the invitation of a trans and/or gender non-conforming person and by helping to get the word out.
Keshet Trans Jews is a group for Bay Area Jews who identify as trans and/or gender nonconforming to gather together.
Glitter Kehilla is building a radical Jewish community of people in our 20s and 30s (ish). We’re all genders and sexualities, creating meaningful Jewish rituals, celebrating holidays, working for justice, learning together, making art, and being fabulous.
