Rabbi Steven Greenberg, the first openly gay Orthodox Jewish rabbi, is coming to speak at Brown on April 25th at 7pm in Salomon 003. Rabbi Greenberg wrote “Wrestling with God and Men: Homosexuality in the Jewish Tradition” and founded the LGBT Jewish advocacy group Eshel. Come hear him speak about the intersection of queerness and religion – all are welcome!
The topic of Rabbi Greenberg’s talk will be “Goldilocks and the Three Orthodoxies: Traditional Responses to Same-Sex Relationships.” This event is hosted by JewQ and cosponsored by the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life at Brown, The Pembroke Center for Gender Studies, the Queer Alliance, Keshet of Boston, and the LGBTQ Center of Brown University.
